Find The Needle System Requirements (2026): PC Specs
Official Find The Needle PC requirements: Windows 10/11 64-bit, GTX 1050 Ti minimum, GTX 1660 Super recommended, Vulkan 1.3, 2 GB storage and CPU notes.
Find The Needle is a Windows-only game with modest GPU requirements and a CPU warning for large factories. The official Steam listing asks for a dedicated Vulkan 1.3 GPU with 4 GB VRAM at minimum, 8 GB of RAM and 2 GB of storage. The recommended build steps up to a 6-core CPU, 16 GB of RAM and a GTX 1660 Super / RTX 2060.
The unusual part is the storage number: 2 GB. That is small for a 2026 simulation game, so do not be surprised if the launch build grows. The store lists 2 GB for both minimum and recommended.
Specs are copied from the official Steam appdetails for App ID 5160800 on November 2, 2026. The game was still in “coming soon” state; requirements can change before launch. Integrated graphics are explicitly unsupported.

Minimum requirements
| Component | Minimum |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit |
| Processor | 4 cores / 8 threads, Intel i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Dedicated GPU with Vulkan 1.3 and 4 GB VRAM — GTX 1050 Ti or RX 570 |
| Storage | 2 GB available space |
| Notes | Integrated graphics are not supported and may crash |
The “4 cores / 8 threads” wording is more specific than the usual “i5-8400 or better.” It means the game expects a modern quad-core with hyper-threading, not an old dual-core. A CPU that meets the clock speed but lacks threads may still struggle.
Recommended requirements
| Component | Recommended |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 11 64-bit |
| Processor | 6+ cores, AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel i5-12400 |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GTX 1660 Super or RTX 2060 with 6 GB VRAM |
| Storage | 2 GB available space |
| Notes | Very large factories are CPU heavy; a faster CPU keeps frame rate up late in the game |
The recommended note is the most useful line on the page. This is not a game that only stresses the GPU. As the factory grows, the simulation has to update more machines, belts and items. A faster CPU matters more in the late game than the GPU tier suggests.
What “Vulkan 1.3” means
Vulkan is a graphics API, an alternative to DirectX. The game requires a GPU and driver that support Vulkan 1.3. That is a relatively modern baseline:
- GTX 1050 Ti and RX 570 are the minimum listed cards.
- Older cards without Vulkan 1.3 support will not run, even if they have 4 GB of VRAM.
- Integrated graphics are explicitly unsupported, not just “slow.”
If the game crashes on launch, the first thing to check is the GPU driver. A driver from 2020 may support Vulkan but not the required 1.3 feature set. Update to a current driver from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel before troubleshooting anything else.
Does it run on a laptop?
It can, if the laptop has a dedicated GPU that meets the minimum and the cooling to sustain it. A laptop GTX 1050 Ti is not the same as a desktop GTX 1050 Ti; mobile versions are often slower. Check the exact GPU model, not just the name.
Integrated graphics laptops are out. The store says they are unsupported and may crash. Do not buy the game for a laptop with only Intel Iris Xe or AMD Radeon integrated graphics and expect a playable experience.
Storage: why only 2 GB?
The 2 GB figure is from the store listing. It may reflect a compact build with reusable assets, or it may be a placeholder that grows at launch. Either way, leave more than 2 GB free:
- the game itself
- shader cache
- save files
- future patches
- Steam overhead
A safe planning number is 10 GB free, even though the store asks for 2 GB. That covers patches and saves without forcing an uninstall later.
CPU vs GPU: what to upgrade first
If you are building or upgrading a PC for this game:
- CPU: the late-game factory is CPU-heavy. A 6-core modern CPU is the safer long-term buy.
- RAM: 16 GB is the recommended spec; 8 GB is the minimum. Factory games can be memory-hungry with large saves.
- GPU: a GTX 1660 Super / RTX 2060 class card is enough for 1080p. You do not need a high-end GPU for this art style.
- Storage: any SSD. The game is small, but fast loading helps.
Do not buy a 4 GB GPU that lacks Vulkan 1.3 just because it is cheap. The API requirement is a hard gate.
Performance expectations
The store does not publish frame-rate targets. Based on the specs, a reasonable expectation is:
- Minimum build: 1080p, low-to-medium settings, 30–60 fps in the early game; slower in a large factory.
- Recommended build: 1080p, medium-to-high settings, stable frame rate until the factory becomes very large.
- High-end build: headroom for a bigger factory and higher resolution.
These are expectations, not benchmarks. The game was not released at the time of writing. After launch, this page will be updated with measured performance if we can test it.
